About Me

I’ve spent my life in the company of animals—from the dogs, cats, and birds of my childhood to the rescue pets I’ve shared my home with as an adult. My knowledge doesn’t come from a textbook or a vet clinic; it comes from decades of "in-the-trenches" experience, and a life lived alongside four-legged friends.

I have navigated the unique seasons that come with rescue dogs and cats: the slow, patient building of trust, the challenge of balancing different temperaments, and the immense joy of seeing a timid animal finally feel at home. I have also walked through the quieter, more difficult chapters - the changing needs of aging pets and the tough, inevitable goodbyes.

Raising my children alongside our animals has shown me firsthand how active engagement can bridge the gap between a pet’s past and a happy, confident future. I’m here to share the practical lessons and creative enrichment solutions I’ve picked up along the way, as well as the new insights that come with life’s transitions and the addition of new furry family members to the fold.
